Kaitlyn Tatulli |

imaginationIMEX America has released its show themes for the upcoming exhibition in September 2019, which allow attendees to explore more deeply a particularly important industry trend. This year, the annual session talking points will center on four themes: imagination, wellness, experiential, CSR and sustainability, and event tech.

In this post, we will focus on IMEX’s first show theme: imagination. Learn why IMEX chose Imagination as a Talking Point for 2019 and what it means for you.

Imagination as IMEX America’s Talking Point for 2019

IMEX America Las Vegas September 10-12, 2019

Back in January of 2019, IMEX announced Imagination would be the talking point of 2019. At IMEX Frankfurt, attendees saw Imagination thematically run through the entire event, specifically in its talking point topics: collaboration and transformation; diversity and inclusion; sustainability. So, what should you expect for IMEX America? What does Imagination really mean?

IMEX Group CEO, Carina Bauer, explained why the Group chose Imagination in an interview. According to Bauer, “this year’s Talking Point virtually chose itself.” Because, Bauer continues, “We now live in a world that’s changing faster than ever in history and a lot of that change is taking place in particular spaces such as the environment, health, infrastructure, travel and technology.Absolutely everything – and everyone – is connected or capable of becoming connected and the driving force behind all the positive changes we’re witnessing is the power of the human imagination – a uniquely human quality. So, we’re exploring and celebrating this aspect of being human – one that we frequently take for granted. Think of it as a human superpower; our instinct to ask, without judgement or limitation, “What if…”

For people in the meeting and event industry, celebrating the industry’s curiosity, creativity, and even the challenges are all apart of Imagination. During IMEX America, attendees will be asked throughout the show to reflect on, as Bauer deemed it, this “uniquely human quality” we all have and learn how we can further apply this quality to meeting and events.
