Oni Chukwu

Chief Executive Officer, Aventri

Oni was appointed Aventri’s Chief Executive Officer in September 2013 and is a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He is responsible for the company’s vision, global strategy and day-to-day operations. In this role, he has been leading the critical transformation and emergence of the company as a foremost global leader in the enterprise Event Management Software industry. His focus is on accelerating the company’s leading market position and global growth.

Through strong organic growth, international expansion, a customer-first market approach, as well as product focused M&A strategy, Oni has led a redefinition of this large, burgeoning market and built a formidable roster of global marquee customers and partners.

Oni is a veteran executive and technology investor in the enterprise software industry. He most recently served as the Executive Vice President of Triple Point Technology, the global leader for in-cloud commodities management software. At Triple Point, Oni was instrumental in implementing and shepherding the company’s record software industry-leading revenue and earnings growth over seven consecutive high-growth years. At Triple Point he led and successfully integrated eight cross-border acquisitions and grew the company to 16 global offices, 450 marquee corporate customers on six continents, as well as to over seven consecutive INC 500 awards. In the summer of 2013 he completed the successful sale of Triple Point to ION, in one of the largest enterprise software deals of the year.

Prior to Triple Point, Oni served as Executive Vice President and CFO for Netkey Technology, Inc. (acquired by NEC) and Healthcare Software Synergies (acquired by United Healthcare).

Oni is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and technology industry topics at several business forums, including the annual World Entrepreneurship Summit (WES), the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and global event industry conferences.

Oni serves on the boards of Exago BI, Phlatbe, as well as the Connecticut Technology Council (CTC). He is a Board member and Trustee of The University of New Haven and on the board of DOMUS (a not-for-profit entity in education for at-risk youth).

Through his private family philanthropy, AfricaPlan Foundation, Oni actively supports women’s issues and underprivileged youth globally in the areas of education, healthcare, and leadership and entrepreneurship development for young, budding entrepreneurs.

Oni holds an MBA and honorary Ph.D in Business Administration from the University of New Haven.

Peter Armstrong

Board Member

Active technology entrepreneur and investor, Peter Armstrong co-founded Triple Point Technology, a leading commodities management software business, in 1993 and was its chief executive officer until the sale of the company to the ION Group in 2013. Under Peter’s leadership, Triple Point launched a full suite of industry-leading and award-winning products and evolved into a global organization supporting the demanding needs of energy and commodity market participants in a wide range of industries. Independent validation of Peter’s leadership success included Triple Point being named a “Leader” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Energy Trading and Risk Management in every year the study was published. In addition to serving as a director for Aventri, Peter sits on the board of directors/advisors for several software and technology-enabled services companies, including Hanweck Associates, Mediant Communications, Eka Software Solutions, and Qliktag Software.

John Block

Partner, HGGC

John is a partner at HGGC, a leading private equity firm. He’s active in the firm’s Fund III investment in Mi9 and HelpSystems, the Fund II investments in Aventri, Davies Group, Integrity, FPX and Pearl, as well as the Fund I investment in Innovative and MyWebGrocer. He previously was involved with the firm’s exited investments in Citadel, Hollander and hybris.  Prior to his current role at the firm, John was an associate at HGGC. Previously, he was a senior associate consultant for Bain & Company, where he served private equity clients on due diligence projects and general practice clients spanning multiple industries on growth-oriented strategies. John is a graduate of the Booth School of Business at The University of Chicago.

Farouk J. Hussein

Principal, HGGC

A principal at leading private equity firm HGGC, Farouk is active in the firm’s Fund III, Fund II (including Aventri) and Fund I investments. Prior to joining HGGC, Farouk was an associate at JMI Equity, where he was responsible for analyzing and executing transactions in the enterprise software realm, with a focus on software-as-a-service (SaaS) and vertical market software. Previously, he worked as an investment banking analyst in the technology group of Union Square Advisors. Farouk is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.

Richard F. Lawson

Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, HGGC

As its chief executive officer and co-founder, Richard has directed leading private equity firm HGGC’s governance, investment strategy and investor relations since its inception. Over its history, HGGC has completed platform investments, add-on acquisitions, recapitalizations and liquidity events with an aggregate transaction value of $15 billion. Prior to leading HGGC, Richard established predecessor private equity funds Huntsman Gay Capital Partners in 2007, as well as Sorenson Capital in 2002. Richard also worked at Morgan Stanley in its mergers and acquisitions department and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of enterprise software company Found, Inc. He also serves on the board on several philanthropic and cultural institutions including the Capital Impact Foundation, San Francisco Zoo, Wasatch Adaptive Sports and the Forever Young Foundation.

Benjamin Levin

Founder and Partner, Level Equity

Benjamin Levin is a partner and founder at Level Equity. He has been an investor in growing media, software and services companies since 1997. Prior to founding Level Equity he was a Managing Director at Insight Venture Partners; previous professional experience includes Mentmore Holdings and Salomon Brothers, and he is a graduate of Harvard College.
