Management Team

Oni Chukwu

CEO & President
Oni was appointed Aventri Chief Executive Officer in September 2013 and is a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He is responsible for the company’s vision, global strategy and day-to-day operations. His focus is on accelerating the company’s leading market position and global growth. A veteran software industry executive and entrepreneur, he most recently served as the Executive Vice President of Triple Point Technology, the global leader for in-cloud commodities management software. In summer of 2013, he completed the successful sale of Triple Point to a strategic acquirer. Oni is a frequent speaker on entrepreneurship and technology industry topics at several business forums, including the annual World Entrepreneurship Summit (WES) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). Oni holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Haven.

Michael Burns

Global Head of Sales and Marketing
Michael joined Aventri in June of 2018 as Global Head of Sales and Marketing. Michael’s focus in this role is on aligning and driving the go-to-market strategy of the business with the overall goal of providing the best possible experience for our customers. He has developed and scaled sales and marketing teams for companies such as RELX, marcus evans and Madison Logic and brings nearly 20 years of executive-level experience in the SaaS, Martech and events industries. Michael is a life-long New Yorker and received his undergraduate degree in History from NYU, and attended Brooklyn College to pursue graduate studies in American History.

Shane Edmonds

Chief Technology Officer
Shane joined Aventri in April 2014 as the Chief Technology Officer focused on executing Aventri’s technology vision. His responsibilities include managing the engineering, QA, and product teams to deliver on the Aventri’s product roadmap. As a forward-looking technologist, he plays a prominent role in guiding the long-term product vision. With 20 years of entrepreneurial software engineering and management background, he most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer of Motionsoft, a venture-backed leading provider of CRM, member management, payment processing and billing software solutions. He was recognized in 2012 as one of the top Washington area CIO/CTO by SmartCEO Magazine. Shane holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering & Applied Science from Arizona State University.

Matthew Fish

Chief Financial Officer
Matthew joined Aventri in January 2015 as Chief Financial Officer focused on leading and aligning the finance function to be in lock-step with the needs of the business. He oversees all aspects of financial activities including financial planning and reporting, investor relations, taxes, treasury and risk management. With 20 years of experience in the technology, financial services and business consulting industries, Matthew most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for TuneSat, a leading SaaS technology company that revolutionizes the way music copyrights are identified, reported and monetized. Prior to TuneSat, he served as the CFO for JP Morgan Equities Technology and Head of North American Finance & Business Management for Deutsche Bank Private Bank. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from the University of Albany, SUNY.

Brian Friedman

Vice President, Digital Innovation
Brian joined Aventri in December 2016 and is the Vice President of Digital Innovation. He leads the company’s digital strategic objectives by identifying and articulating product and growth marketing visions that transform and disrupt the event market. This includes driving user experience design and research, setting product and marketing vision, guiding technical and design teams, and implementing growth marketing programs. Previously Brian was the founder and CEO of LOOPD, the emerging leader in offline analytics that uses socially-smart wearables and actionable metrics to help marketers understand, target and interact with visitors in a fashion that has never been done before. Aventri acquired LOOPD in December 2016. Brian studied Materials Science and Engineering, with minors in Product Design and Entrepreneurship from Lehigh University.

Alan Ivory

Vice President, Professional Services
Alan joined Aventri as the Vice President and General Manager for the Asia Pacific region in February 2013 when Aventri acquired the long-time regional partner. In January 2015, Alan was appointed Vice President of Professional Services – overseeing this function globally, he will work with various teams to procure and deliver on-boarding, implementation, training and other paid services requested by customers. Alan brings his experience and knowledge of over 20 years within the corporate, association and government meetings and event space. Prior to joining Aventri, he owned and operated an event management company for 15 years in Asia Pacific, where he produced high profile special events and road shows. Alan’s strength is his ability to assemble, motivate and manage exceptional customers and teams. Alan holds an undergrad degree from the Auckland University of Technology.

Joe Plastina

Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Development
Joe joined Aventri in July 2017 as the Vice President of Corporate Development focused on sourcing and executing acquisitions. His responsibilities include the structuring of pre-acquisition due diligence, comprehensive monitoring of critical post-acquisition deliverables and the integration required to ensure a 100% success rate of the transactions. He also plays a central role in building and maintaining long term strategy and ensuring that the strategic rationale for initiatives and acquisitions is sound. With over 15 years of experience in technology, operations, business and corporate development, Joe most recently served as the Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Broadridge, a global fintech leader. With a long track record of quantifiable success in corporate development, strategy and operations, he also held corporate development positions at Triple Point Technology, Misys and served as managing director at Bridge Loan Network. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from The Cooper Union and a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School.

Kathleen Roberge

Chief Revenue Officer
Kathleen joined Aventri in January 2014 as the Vice President of Global Sales focused on achieving company revenue and growth objectives. In January 2017, she was appointed Chief Revenue Officer responsible for driving top revenue-generating activities globally and overseeing direct sales, account management, solutions consulting and the channel partner portfolio. With 18 years of sales leadership and market growth experience in the hosted technology space, she most recently served as Compushare’s Chief Business Development Officer. Kathleen helped complete the successful sales of Compushare to D+H in 2013. Kathleen has spoken at more than 40 technology events and has received recognition for her leadership in the technology space. She served as a board member for the Association for Financial Technology for five years, where she was also the President. Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Corporate Communications from Fairfield University.

Kevin Ruhman

Senior Vice President Sales, Hospitality and Venue Sourcing
Kevin joined Aventri in April 2018 as the Senior Vice President of Sales, Hospitality and Venue Sourcing. Kevin’s focus is on expanding the company’s market footprint in the global venue sourcing and hospitality market. He works closely with the sales, product and support teams to collaboratively execute the best go-to-market strategy for the hospitality market.As a hospitality industry veteran, Kevin has over 25 years of experience working for some of the leading hotel companies in the world such as Marriott, Sheraton, Lowes and Omni. Most recently, he was the Corporate Vice President for Newscrestimage Hospitality, a Dallas based hotel management company, where he led sales, revenue management and marketing. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Texas Tech University.

Julian Ward

Chief Client Officer
Julian joined Aventri in November 2008 to create and build the global support team for the Aventri platform. In September 2013 he was appointed Chief Client Officer – responsible for the support, implementation, professional services and ongoing client relations globally. Julian has become an expert in the customer service and technology space having held a variety of positions. Prior to Aventri, Julian headed up the regional internal support initiatives and global deployments at Gartner Inc. – creating best practices and user acceptance for several Fortune 100 companies. He was also the Event Director for info’ Products UK , a startup that produced and ran high-level hosted buyer events in financial, healthcare and datacenter technologies space. Julian holds a Diploma in Computer Science from South East Essex College of Arts and Technology (SEECAT).
